Durvud long song melody is dominantly ‘besreg’ (short-scale), plain and continuous and its singing technique preserves its earliest form of long song singing. In comparison to other ethnic long song styles, Durvud long song has more natural (tribal) characteristics, is considered to be the most ancient form of Mongolian long song and is a long song style in risk of being lost and in need of urgent safeguarding.
