Following its origin dating back to primal period of time, Mongolian long song has been formed, kept and transmitted in a variety of diverse forms and styles among all the Mongol ethnicities throughout the territory of Mongolia; in Buryatia, Tuva and Kalmukia in Russia, most part of Inner Mongolia, Torgut Mongols in Khovog Sair and Bor Tala in Xinjiang, Deed (Upper) Mongols in Kokonor and Tsastyn Mongols in China.

As the long song has been used in a broader scope from daily life to statehood traditions, belief and rituals of the Mongols, which is also introduced HERE.
