BAYAD LONG SONG

Due to its melody composition, singing style and technique, the vibration, melisma such as 'nugalaa' (lit. 'bending') and 'khugalaa' (lit. 'breaking') of vocal singing and breath management, Bayad long song melody is considered to be the 'evolutionary-progressive' in the process of developing and is certainly a form of Mongolian long song in need of urgent safeguarding that lost its inheritance. Observing the memories of heritage bearers, the Khalkha long song had been already penetrated the repertoire of Bayad long song singers by 20th century, which might have possibly led to further advancement in singing proficiency to extend the diapason of melody and use much melisma in singing the local 'besreg' (short-scale) Bayad long songs.
