URIANKHAI LONG SONG

The long song and rituals of Uriankhai people have two different types. One group of Uriankhai has more advanced form in terms of singing skills, melody structure and composition and singing style. The other has an ancient form of long song that might represent the next stage of development of Durvut long song and has long song melody-intonation-phonation-proficiency of a very ancient form of long song. Yet, both of them don't have any 'shurankhai' (An octave leap to reach the highest pitch in falsetto) and Uriankhais from Duut, Altai, Buyant and Altantsugts have very similar melody shifting-'vowel twisting' and intonation. It's curious that the Uriankhais from Munkhkhairkhan soum have an exclamation accent of 'Uya-Khaya' and 'Ooyo', where they sing with upward and downward (high and low pitches) in ancient form and structure of long song singing.
